PATRICIDAL TENDENCIES
When did you decide that loyalty to your progeny was something you could chose.
Reprehensive and self absorbed, so corrupt you can not feel the shame and so you've left your absence unexplained.

So let your lungs breathe deep, they won't fail you now. These aching sleepless nights we'll cast aside somehow. Though you were branded with his name the only thing left to remain.

So now the tree has grown but you will never reap what you have sown. A history now that will go unknown. And within yourself can't see your mistakes. Stakes have never been so high - an abandoned future left to die.

So let your lungs breathe deep, they won't fail you now. These aching sleepless nights we'll cast aside somehow. Though you were branded with his name the only thing left to remain.

And so your words they'll never hear again and yet your blood still flows through their veins.
Can't part with it with the ease that you left them and these genetic reminders they're tearing from within.

And through these lost years two things she can't help but retain. A burning rage that their pills never can tame. And one undying wish were there a place for penance due, you'd populate the likes of it for a life untrue.

(Not autobiographical, fortunately. Dedicated to shitty fathers everywhere)
